Admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and founder of Mashiane Attorneys Inc., specialising in data governance, AI regulation, POPIA/PAIA compliance, and GRC advisory. Jabu is a founding member and former Chairperson of the CISA Youth Committee, serves on the BASA Privacy Subcommittee, and is a former Deputy Chairperson of the SABRIC Data Governance Committee. He previously served as Director at WMN Attorneys Inc. and as Group Compliance Regulatory Specialist within the financial services sector.

2018
The beginning
Admitted to the High Court of South Africa with expertise in litigation, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and banking — laying the intellectual foundation for a distinctive legal practice rooted in African leadership.
2020
Specialist Mastery & Thought Leadership
Deepening expertise in data governance and AI regulation within the financial services sector, and appointed Group Compliance Regulatory Specialist. This period also broadened horizons across African markets — developing a nuanced understanding of the continent's diverse regulatory landscapes, sector-specific compliance requirements, and the strategic alignment between domestic South African law and the evolving pan-African regulatory universe. Exposure to how African economies navigate digital transformation, data protection, and financial regulation laid the groundwork for a practice built on continental insight.
2022
Sector expansion
Appointed Director at WMN Attorneys Inc. and to the BASA Privacy Subcommittee, this phase was defined by deliberate cross-sector immersion — building deep expertise in POPIA and PAIA compliance, data governance, AI regulation, digital economy law, renewable energy and infrastructure, mining, HealthTech innovation, smart agriculture, smart education, and public law. Each sector sharpened a new dimension of what would become the firm’s distinctive multi-disciplinary practice.
